Welcome!

Thanks for your interest in the Streicek Mine, a very exciting paleochannel gold placer deposit in the Cariboo gold fields… the only virgin portion of paleochannel in BC (that we’re aware of). Owner Werner Streicek has decided to sell for health reasons which is a very difficult decision for him given current proximity to bedrock. The mine is currently permitted until June 2026 and the lease is in good standing (next lease payment due June 2024).

Introduction:

The Streicek Mine contains within it's 129ha a 700-900m portion of virgin “high level buried placer valley” paleochannel, confirmed by geologist V.M. Levson in 1991 survey of tertiary and quarternary deposits in the Cariboo region (Bulletin 89, see Downloads). The property has been fully developed and bedrock is within reach (see Photos & seismic survey in Downloads). The mine is conveniently located in the vicinity of Wells/Barkerville and just an hour's drive from Quesnel, making equipment mobilization much easier than many lower-grade deposits.

The Gold

Gold recovered from the Streicek Mine has consistently smelted 90-91% Au, 8-9% Ag and <1% other (black sands)
(sample assay reports are available under Downloads above)

Gold from Werner’s previous operations on the “overflow channel” on same property

Gold from 2021 Operator from the “Main Channel”

Gold recovered from small family attempt at operation (2021 & 2022 combined only ~1000 yds washed)

  • Current permit allows sluicing up to 20,000 m3 and expires June 2026 (Permit P-10-48)

  • Note: Portion of the lease across the highway has not been explored/developed and also has potential given its proximity to known deposits.

EQUIPMENT

  • 4” diesel Gorman-Rupp pump with John Deere engine (valued at $25k CAD)

  • 4” diesel air-cooled pump with Lister-Petters (valued at $4k CAD)

  • 10,000 L Westeel Fuel Tank (valued at $7kCAD)
