Bald Eagle Chair

Werner created Bald Eagle Chair from a discarded stump of Yellow Cedar, as both a genuine homage to the musical culture of the United States and a commentary on the most resource-intensive country on the planet, per capita.

HOW DID THIS PIECE COME ABOUT?

“Once I had the idea, inspired by the new proposed plant just south of the border from us, I followed the natural grain and shape of the bones of this magnificent 400 pound yellow cedar tree. All the pieces came together with a bit of magic and help from the creator. It was a lot of fun to watch this eagle come into being and to play with the placement of the guitar, consult with musicians and local music stores to create it, and it’s been a lot of fun to watch people light up as they see it, sit in it, take pictures, and try the guitar.”
