It's a scientific fact that we live and move in sound, and Werner designed this musical sculpture to help people live that experience more deeply and learn viscerally about the healing power of sound waves. The large many-branched Streicek Family (Werner has 6 daughters) has held Two Bird Drum very dear since it's creation in 2007 & 2008. It has brought joy, laughter and even tears to visitors in the various family homes it's been hosted in over the years.

Sculpted from a single piece of Western Red Cedar, Two Bird Drum uses the natural resonance of wood to translate the vibration both back through the sculpture to the player of the drum, and out into the airspace for others to enjoy as well.
